New patients
Haven’t been in a while? Good news — we don’t keep score.
A first visit here usually goes nothing like the visit you’re bracing for. We sit and talk first, we show you what we see in plain language, and we figure it out together. That’s the whole protocol.
What to expect
Three things happen on your first visit.
-
First.
We sit and talk.
Before any instruments come out. What’s going on, what’s been going on, what you’re hoping for, what you’re worried about. Some new patients haven’t had a real conversation with a dentist in years.
-
Then.
We show you exactly what we see.
Photos. X-rays. On a screen, in plain language. No clinical jargon used as a wall. If you don’t understand what we’re showing you, we’re not done explaining yet.
-
Last.
We figure it out together.
We figure it out together. At our office, that means your doctor, our treatment coordinator, and our insurance coordinator are all working with you — not for you, not at you. You leave with a plan you understand and agreed to, not a treatment list someone else decided on for you.
A few common questions
Things new patients ask most.
These come up enough that we may as well answer them up front. If yours isn’t here, just ask — we’re not going to mind.
- Do I need to bring anything for my first visit?
- Your insurance card if you have one, a list of any medications you take, and a quick note of any concerns you want to make sure we talk through. That’s it.
- It’s been years since I’ve been to the dentist. Will you make me feel bad?
- No. We don’t keep score. The message is always “we’re glad you’re here.”
- What if my crown or filling fails?
- We stand behind the work we do. If a crown or filling fails, call us — we’ll take a look and figure out the best path forward together. We’re committed to making it right when something is within our control, though we can’t account for every factor that affects how dental work holds up over time. When in doubt, just reach out.
- Do you take my insurance?
- We accept most major insurance. Call us with your card handy and we’ll check — Michelle in the office can usually answer in one call.
